I am interested in the operation and exertion of bodies in the performance of life. Affect is important in my work with a particular interest in giving attention to the tender and overlooked. Under a culturally dominant narrative of mastery, I am interested in giving the meager centre stage. Working mainly in moving image, my work seeks to form a certain language- one that may speak of how to live as a weakling.
My video work often features actors, objects and text engaged in deliberate and staged action. I am interested in the site of encounter of this work with its audience. I often make work specifically for the cinema space as well as sculptural screens that have a certain material construction to complement the time-based element.
